MAR OMEGA as "the WOLF"

the DRACULA set by MAR OMEGA
The Wolf, crouching. Wolf running down stairs. MAR standing to show entire costume.

As soon as the set was finished (three hours before the opening performance), MAR OMEGA began painting the costume. Originally the head

was completely white. The rest of the costume consisted of a black turtleneck, black tights and black gloves with furr on the tops of them. To

keep with the consistency of the set, MAR used the same paints that he used on the backdrop. He colored patterns of grey into the white furr

of the head and the black furr of the gloves. He referrenced real wolves to make the furr patterns on the back and sides, and mixed that with

his knowledge of human muscular anatomy to make the front. The tights were then stretched over his feet, and only the front was painted to

give the effect of wolf legs (Wolves have longer ankles and shorter calves in proportion to humans.).

On a funny note, MAR had never practiced going down stair cases with gloves on prior to the opening day of DRACULA. The gloves were very

slippery, so he frantically looked for a solution. For the first couple of performances, he used hairspray or hair gel for traction. Eventually, he started

applying Elmer's Wood Glue to the palms of the gloves at the beginning of each performance.
